TopBet Review South Africa 2026: Our Banking, Bonus and Sportsbook Test

TopBet impressed us with helpful support, straightforward voucher banking and a mobile website that worked smoothly on iOS and Android. Our R125 withdrawal reached FNB in 30 minutes, while WhatsApp replies took under a minute. We also put its welcome bonuses and sports betting features through their paces so you know exactly what to expect from registration to payout.

TopBet gave us plenty to look through, but the part we were most interested in came after the betting. We deposited R50 with an FNB voucher, tried rugby bets and Gates of Olympus, completed verification and withdrew R125 to FNB.

There’s a fair bit here for South African punters: local soccer, rugby, cricket, horse racing, live betting and a separate statistics hub. New customers also get a free no deposit R30 sports and horse-racing bonus, R15 for selected slots and a qualifying 100% first-deposit match up to R1,000. We’ve broken down how those offers work, what we found in the sportsbook and where TopBet could make things easier.

The welcome offers have separate wagering rules, deadlines and withdrawal caps. We explain those below so you can choose an offer that fits the way you actually bet.

Our TopBet Verdict

TopBet Sports in South Africa

During our TopBet sports review, it made a good impression where it mattered to us. As with other top betting sites in South Africa, the registration was straightforward, our voucher deposit went through without fuss and the support team answered our questions quickly.

Once our FICA documents were approved and the necessary wagering was complete, the R125 payout landed in our FNB account in half an hour.

The sportsbook also has more range than you might expect from a quick look at the main menu. Alongside soccer, rugby and cricket, we found tennis tours, American football, combat sports, esports and a sizeable selection of outright markets.

The statistics hub and free predictor add something useful beyond the usual odds and bonus banners. The main drawbacks worth noting are the short welcome-bonus deadlines and fairly narrow Cash Out conditions.

There’s also no downloadable app at the moment, although we have to say that were happy with the mobile website. We’d put TopBet on the shortlist for bettors who want local payment options, a broad sports menu and responsive support, particularly if they’re comfortable using a browser on their phone.

What we like

  • WhatsApp replies took under a minute during testing
  • Our R50 FNB voucher deposit was credited straight away
  • Our R125 Instant EFT withdrawal reached FNB in 30 minutes
  • The statistics hub provides scores, results and tools for following matches
  • The mobile website offered the same experience on iOS, Android and desktop
  • The free predictor gives sports fans another way to take part without placing a bet

What we don't

  • There’s no downloadable app at the moment
  • The no deposit welcome bonuses expire after 24 hours

TopBet Predictor: A Free Competition With Voucher Prizes

TopBet Free predictor

The promotion that caught our eye beyond the betting bonuses was TopBet Predictor. It runs on a separate site and is free to play, with no requirement to place a bet.

You predict selected sporting outcomes, collect points and appear on weekly and monthly leaderboards. The football example used choices such as a draw, a one-goal win or a win by two or more goals. Selections are saved automatically.

The scoring guide awards 100 points for the exact result category and 75 for the correct winner when the result category is missed. For Formula 1, horse racing and golf, choosing the best performer earns 100 points.

Predictor Prizes We Found

The predictor offers R13,000 in total monthly prizes, awarded as TopBet vouchers.

Prize routeReward
Weekly leaderboard first placeR1,000 voucher
Weekly leaderboard second placeR600 voucher
Weekly leaderboard third placeR400 voucher
Take on Itu weekly challengeBeat Itumeleng Khune’s score to enter a draw for a R1,000 voucher
Monthly leaderboard first placeR500 voucher
Monthly leaderboard second placeR300 voucher
Monthly leaderboard third placeR200 voucher

The competition is for eligible South African citizens or residents aged 18+, and a registered, successfully FICA-verified TopBet betting account is required to claim a prize. Only one predictor account is allowed.

Cancelled or postponed matches aren’t scored. In knockout football, a match tied at the end of normal time counts as a draw. A random draw determines prize winners where leaderboard positions are tied.

It’s a nice option for sports fans who enjoy making predictions and comparing results. We explored its information and prize pages; we aren’t claiming a predictor prize win.

TopBet Welcome Bonuses: What You Get and What You Need to Do

TopBet has three separate welcome offers. The two no deposit betting bonuses are credited without an initial deposit, while the first-deposit match comes after you meet its qualifying conditions.

OfferWagering requirementQualifying useExpiryMaximum withdrawable bonus winnings
R30 sports/horse-racing bonus5x the bonusSingles at odds of 3.00 or higher24 hours from creditingR200
R15 slots bonus45x the bonusThree selected Pragmatic slots; qualifying odds threshold of 3.00 or higher24 hours from creditingR100
100% first-deposit match up to R1,000Deposit 1x before crediting; bonus 5x afterwardsDeposit turnover at odds of 2.00+; bonus on sports/horse-racing singles at odds of 3.00+Deposit within seven days of registration; bonus expires three days after creditingR2,000

For either registration offer, withdrawing bonus winnings requires a deposit of at least R50, wagered once. The R15 slots credit isn’t a stated number of spins, and neither registration bonus is immediately withdrawable cash.

The R30 No-Deposit Sports and Horse-Racing Bonus

The R30 offer gives you a small starting balance for single sports or horse-racing bets. Multiples don’t qualify.

You need to wager the bonus five times at odds of 3.00 or higher. On a R30 bonus, that means R150 in qualifying turnover, completed within 24 hours of crediting.

The maximum withdrawable winnings from this offer are R200. Before withdrawing them, you also need to deposit at least R50 and wager that deposit once.

We liked being able to choose sport or horse racing as we claimed it. The deadline is the part to plan around: claim it when you have time to use it, and check the qualifying odds before placing your selection.

The R15 Slots Welcome Bonus

The slots offer is restricted to three Pragmatic games:

  • Gates of Olympus
  • Sweet Bonanza
  • Sugar Rush

We chose Gates of Olympus during testing. The bonus requires 45x wagering, which comes to R675 in qualifying turnover on the R15 credit, and expires after 24 hours.

TopBet also applies a qualifying odds threshold of 3.00 or higher. The bonus-wallet message states that winnings at odds below 3 don’t count towards rollover progress. Check the progress shown in your account as you play.

The maximum withdrawable winnings are R100. As with the sports registration bonus, you need a minimum R50 deposit wagered once before withdrawing bonus winnings.

How the 100% TopBet Welcome Bonus Works

TopBet matches a qualifying first deposit of R50 to R1,000, provided you deposit within seven days of registration.

There are two stages to this offer. First, wager your deposit once in full at odds of 2.00 or higher. Your account also needs FICA approval before the bonus can be credited.

Once credited, the matching bonus needs 5x turnover on single sports or horse-racing bets at odds of 3.00 or higher. Multiples don’t qualify for the bonus stage, and the bonus stake is deducted from winnings. To give you an idea of what this could look like with various deposit amounts, we’ve provided a breakdown below:

First deposit Deposit turnover before bonus crediting Matching bonus Bonus turnover at 5x
R50 R50 R50 R250
R100 R100 R100 R500
R500 R500 R500 R2,500
R1,000 R1,000 R1,000 R5,000

Only settled qualifying bets count. Cancelled, invalid and cashed-out bets don’t contribute to the first-deposit rollover.

The matching bonus expires three days after crediting, and its maximum withdrawable winnings are R2,000. Our R50 deposit kept the initial commitment small while we tested the offer.

Ongoing TopBet Bonuses for Existing Customers

The offers continue after registration, with sports cashback, a multibet win boost and a birthday bonus. Each serves a different purpose, so here’s what matters before using one.

Sports Multibet Boost Up to 150%

TopBet automatically boosts qualifying winning pre-match sports multiples placed with cash. You need at least two qualifying legs, each at minimum odds of 1.30, and a successfully FICA-verified account.

The full 150% headline requires 50 or more qualifying legs. An ordinary five-leg qualifying multiple sits in the 10% tier.

The boost should appear on the betslip automatically. If it doesn’t, TopBet won’t add it manually. Legs below the qualifying odds don’t count, and void selections can move your ticket into a lower tier. Check out our accumulator betting guide to get an idea of how the combined odds work. Taking an early Cash Out also forfeits the Win Boost.

Weekly Sports Cashback Up to 10%

TopBet’s cashback applies to qualifying real-money pre-match and in-play sports bets. The calculation period runs from Wednesday to Tuesday, with eligibility starting at R100 in net losses.

Net losses are calculated as:

Total losses − total winnings − Bonus Wallet transfers

For example, R2,500 in losses, R1,500 in winnings and R500 in bonus transfers leave R500 in qualifying net losses. At 10%, that produces a R50 bonus bet.

R50 Birthday Bonus

The birthday offer is a R50 bonus bet for customers with an active, FICA-approved account.

To qualify as active, you need to have deposited at least R50 in the previous seven days. The birthday bonus must be turned over in one bet on sport, horse racing or numbers at odds over 3.00.

It lasts five days from crediting, and up to R500 can be transferred to cash. Bonus-money bets aren’t refunded if their tickets are cancelled.

TopBet Deposits and Withdrawals: Our R50 Voucher Test

We chose an FNB voucher for this test. The deposit screen asked for the voucher code, and once we entered it, our R50 was credited straight away.

Over the following three days, we placed rugby bets and played our chosen slot, completing the necessary qualifying wagering. We ended up with R125 available to withdraw.

After our FICA approval came through, we selected Instant EFT to FNB. The money reflected in our bank account in 30 minutes.

Cancelling a processed Instant Money withdrawal carries a R10 administration fee. TopBet’s general terms also allow charges on withdrawals of unplayed deposits and certain card transactions, so don’t assume every transaction is fee-free. Our South African betting payment guide covers the main differences between EFT, vouchers and cash-send options.

TopBet FICA: What You Need to Know

Getting your FICA documents approved early makes withdrawing much easier. We submitted proof of identity and address during our TopBet test, and approval came through in 10 hours. Support advised that the process could take up to 24 hours, so it’s worth getting this sorted while you’re setting up your account.

Have the following ready:

  • Proof of identity: A copy of your South African ID document, driver’s licence or valid passport.
  • Proof of address: A recent document showing your residential address. TopBet requested this from us, and its general terms specify that address documents shouldn’t be older than three months.

Sending your documents: TopBet requests copies, which you can upload, email to fica@topbet.co.za or send by WhatsApp to 061 910 2589. During our verification, we also emailed copies to the official FICA address.

TopBet Sportsbook: Sports, Leagues and Betting Markets

Soccer gets plenty of room in the sportsbook, with local PSL fixtures alongside the English Premier League, Championship, EFL Cup, Champions League, Europa League and the main European domestic leagues.

We also spent time opening the other sports and league filters. There was a good mix of familiar competitions and smaller events, plus a separate Outrights tab for longer-term selections.

Soccer, Rugby, Tennis and Cricket Markets

The soccer market dropdown lets you change the market shown across the fixture list. We could switch between match result, double chance, both teams to score, total goals, draw no bet, handicaps, first-goal markets and total corners.

There were also first-half markets, team-goal totals, highest-scoring half and multigoals options. That’s useful when you want to compare the same selection across several matches without opening every fixture.

Inside the rugby fixture we checked, the market groups included Main, Handicap and Halves, with match result, double chance and three-way handicap options visible.

Tennis had match winner, first-set winner, total games and handicap games in its fixture-list selector, whereas cricket displayed Winner including Super Over for the events shown.

Our rugby betting guide and tennis betting guide explain those markets if you want to try something beyond a straight winner bet.

Live Betting and Useful Filters

TopBet offers in-play sports betting alongside its pre-match markets. We found league filters, an odds filter and time options such as All Events, 3 Hours and Today.

The Top Leagues shortcuts make the popular competitions quicker to reach. Inside an event, market categories and a search control help narrow down the available selections.

We also noticed a playful touch: crowd sounds when opening the sportsbook and customised effects when choosing certain sports or filters. For example, Formula 1 came with the sound of a car speeding past. It gave the site some personality and made browsing feel a little more connected to the sport.

The Statistics Hub Is Worth Opening

The Statistics tab leads to a separate Sportradar hub. We opened its basketball section and found completed results, quarter-by-quarter scores, upcoming matches, competition shortcuts and a Match Radar panel.

There are favourites and pin controls for following competitions and matches, with navigation for soccer, tennis, basketball, ice hockey, baseball, handball, volleyball and other sports.

It’s a useful companion to the sportsbook, especially when several matches are happening at once. TopBet also provides a link to download its latest soccer fixtures, which is handy if you prefer looking through the schedule before choosing bets.

TopBet Cash Out: Check the Conditions Before Building Your Multiple

TopBet calls its Cash Out facility an early-payout feature. It allows qualifying tickets to be settled before every match is over, but the conditions are specific. To show you what to expect, we’ve broken the rules down below:

  • Single-match bets don’t qualify.
  • Only qualifying legs at odds of 1.30 or higher count.
  • The offer changes with current odds and includes deductions.
  • Availability depends on the event, tournament, market and ticket.
  • It isn’t available while a match included in the multiple is in progress.
  • Cash Out becomes available only after the first leg settles as a winner.

The displayed settlement amount is non-negotiable. Accepting it settles the original bet, so later results won’t change what you receive.

Cash Out and Multi Boost on the Same Ticket

If a qualifying multiple has a Win Boost, taking Cash Out means giving up that boost. Cashed-out bets also don’t count towards the first-deposit or cashback rollover requirements. So, be sure to check the cash amount offered, the boost you’d forfeit and whether you were counting the bet towards bonus turnover.

Horse Racing Betting at TopBet

Horse racing betting has its own section with Meetings, Next Races and Results tabs. Within Meetings, we could move between today’s cards and future races, while a track-search box helped find a specific venue.

The cards showed runner numbers, jockey or driver names, silks, favourites and odds. Our screenshots included Canberra Harness and Marseille-Borély, with South African racing-related listings also present.

The Next Races view put upcoming cards together, and the Results tab showed finishing positions plus F/C and T/C dividends. Jackpot Quickmix results appeared there too.

We liked that racing had a dedicated layout. Someone looking for the next race or a settled result can get there without working through the general sports menus.

TopBet Mobile Website: Tested on iOS and Android

We tested the mobile website on both iOS and Android and found the experience matched what desktop offered. That’s the route to use on your phone at present.

We asked live chat directly about a downloadable app. And the agent, Valentine, confirmed that TopBet didn’t have one at the time and directed us to the website.

TopBet Customer Support: Our WhatsApp and Live-Chat Tests

WhatsApp was particularly responsive. We asked about the FICA timeline and bonus wagering, and replies took under a minute during our test. The answers were helpful and matched the terms we’d read.

We also tested live chat with an app question. Our message went out at 12:00, and the reply arrived at 12:02, confirming there wasn’t a downloadable app.

Finding the written help took a little more looking around. We didn’t find footer links to a help centre or FAQ, but Contact us at the top led us to the contact details, support hours and payment information. We also found the separate FAQ content.

TopBet’s contact page lists 19 branches across Gauteng, Limpopo and KwaZulu-Natal, giving the brand a retail presence alongside the online service.

TopBet Licensing and Responsible Gambling

TopBet’s footer identifies two companies trading as TopBet SA and displays their provincial licence details:

CompanyRegulatorLicenceIssue date displayed
Hatsy Pty Ltd, registration 2021/566646/07Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board10190445-0041 October 2025
Colman Pty Ltd, registration 2026/028675/07Eastern Cape Gambling BoardECBM 0703 July 2026

These are the company and licence details displayed by TopBet. The licence issue dates shouldn’t be treated as the brand’s launch date.

The site also publishes a self-exclusion process. Its information describes a minimum six-month exclusion period, with free NRGP counselling and an application process for lifting the exclusion. It doesn’t end automatically after six months.

The self-exclusion form can be submitted to support@topbet.co.za. TopBet displays the NRGP helpline 0800 006 008 and WhatsApp support number 076 675 0710.

Is TopBet Worth Joining in South Africa?

TopBet earned its place on our shortlist through a successful payment test, quick support and a sportsbook with plenty to explore. The R50 voucher deposit and 30-minute FNB payout were the clearest positives, while the statistics hub and free predictor gave us useful extras to spend time with.

If you enjoy single sports bets, use local banking options and are happy betting through your mobile browser, TopBet is worth a look. Start by completing FICA and choosing the welcome offer that fits your fixtures and budget. The short deadlines and Cash Out restrictions are the details to understand before you begin.
